Microsoft launching a new search engine

Posted in

Mr. Bill Gates doesn't seem to have given up on the idea of having Microsoft's search engine, so it plans to release a redesign of current search engines owned by Microsoft (MSN & Live) hoping that it'd get 'em more traffic. But do you think this is gonna happen anytime ?

I don't think so, like Microsoft was successful in establishing its monopoly in Operating Systems (Windows), similar Google has gone far away in success with Search and Ad market. No new search engine can beat Google.

The new search engine about to be named 'Bing' intends to make daily websearches a less haphazard by helping people to buy things, book travel and find credible health information.

Many such attempts have been made by others as an example - Cuil, but never came to the success level of Google.

One point to be noted in this that Microsoft is going to be spending as much as $100 million for advertising this search engine !! The very reason why Live Search failed was lack of publicity.
