1.Use Tasks

Using tasks is an effective way to increase your productivity as well as organizing your work. Gmail has a default task application which you can use but for those of you that are looking for more, you can add different task managers in Gmail such as Remember the milk, which can be added in gmail using google labs. There are tons of features in google labs which can help you increase your productivity massively as well as making gmail personalized according to your own requirements and preferences.

2. Use Quick Links

Use the quick links feature of Gmail to add your favorites and web links that you receive in e-mails. You can do this again through google labs. Go to google labs under settings and enable "Quick Links". This can be useful when you're always refering to a particular website while writing a mail. You can put the link of that website in gmail's Quick Links instead of having it as a favorite or bookarking it because you can't always be with your computer everywhere. Maybe you are a cyber cafe or using a friends computer and you have forgotten the link ( which can be a real headbanger ). This is where "Quick Links" is really useful. Because anywhere you go you're always going to have that refernce site in your mail.

3. Use Addons To Make Gmail Better

There are lots of great addons for firefox which can be extremely helpful and certainly make Gmail better for you. I am gonna write about to of these. One is Integrated Gmail. This is an extremely handy application. This is a very worthwhile application for those of you who use google calender and google reader. You must be knowing that you cannot have Gmail, Google Calender and Google Reade all under one tab. But this application gets all of those under one tab. This way you have to log onto just one account for all your google applications instead of 2 or 3 times.The other application is Better Gmail. This addon adds useful extra features to Gmail, like hierarchical labels, an unread message icon on your browser tab, file attachment icons, and more.

4. Add Gadgets To Gmail

Using the Add Gadgets feature of Gmail, which can be found under google labs, you can add gadgets to enable usage of Digg, Facebook, Google Calculator, PolyClock, Twitter, etc., as shown in the above picture. The Digg gadget can be used to be updated about tech news and more. You can keep track of your friends status messages by adding the facebook gadget while the google calculator gadget can be used as a calculator. Do you want to make sure that a friend or known person reads your mail when he is in some foreign country but you never when to send the mail ? Sometimes you may be disappointed because he did'nt check your mail because there were just so many mails waiting for him that he just selecting all of the mails and marked them as read or sent them to the bin? Well with PolyClock you dont have to worry anymore. It's like a world clock in your Gmail sidebar. Just add the countries and send the mails at an appropriate time. You can also keep track of your friends with the twitter Gadget.
