easier way in linux using CLI

linux users can use a readily available shell script called "youtube-dl". you can download any youtube video by using this command.

youtube-dl "filename" "video url"

The file name can be wither flv or mp4. There is a similar script called metacafe-dl to download metacafe videos. Ubuntu users can download these directly using the synaptic.

cheers

Bonjour! Have a nice day! :)

CLI method

Using CLI method you have to anyway copy and paste the URL. The bookmarklet way doesn't need that.
But The script is great. CLI lovers can prefer that over bookmarkllets. Smile

Not shell script

That's cool, but it's Python rather than a shell script. There IS a good shell script, here:

Ahh! which Linux distro

Ahh! which Linux distro doesn't have python ? yeah some uncommon user distros like those BSDs and ArchLinux who are completely configured may not have python if you've not installed some application requiring python or installed python natively.
