The iphone killer?
Finnish mobile giant Nokia officially unveiled its 5800 XpressMusic touchscreen phone in what was an eagerly awaited product launch. The phone, which is also called Nokia Tube, is expected to debut on the Indian markets in November and may cost around Rs 20,000. Nokia's first touchscreen device has a 3.2-inch touch resistance screen with a 640 x 360 pixel resolution. It is also equipped with a 3.2 megapixel camera with a Carl Zeiss lens, autofocus, and dual-LED flash. Measuring 4.37 x 2.04 x 0.61 in and weighing just 3.84 oz, the XpressMusic 5800 includes 81 MB internal memory expandable up to 16 GB via a MicroSD memory card slot.
Connectivity options include Bluetooth version 2.0 as well as support for MTP (Mobile Transfer Protocol) , TV out with Nokia Video Connectivity Cable and PC synchronization with Nokia PC suite. Supported e-mail formats include IMAP, POP, SMTP. Furthermore Mail for Exchange 2008 in DL client, in 2009 is embedded into the phone. Multimedia features include Nokia Nseries digital music player with support for mp3, SpMidi, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA formats. The Nokia Tube has also got dedicated volume keys and immediate access to Music Player from Media Bar as well as dedicated music keys in the headset control unit AD-54. Web browsing is also a formidable feature in the Nokia Tube with the OSS browser helping simplify web surfing and browsing. Supported mark up languages include HTML, XHTML, WML. The Nokia Tube also supports HTTP, WAP, JavaScript protocols. Nokia Tube also includes a Comes With Music service that offers one year of unlimited access to the entire Nokia Music Store catalogue.
